Fort William Henry Museum is open daily April 1 to November 2, 2025.
Sitting atop a small rise, Fort William Henry commanded the southern end of Lake George November 1755 to August 1757 during the French & Indian War.

Museum
Step back into the 18th Century at Fort William Henry Museum! Take a Guided Military Demonstration led by a British solider. The demonstration includes a short tour if the Main Museum followed by live musket and cannon firings. Children are welcome to join the King’s Army after the tour where they are dressed as a British solider and marched through the Parade Ground.
After visiting the Fort, stop by the Sutler Shoppe for a great selection of Fort William Henry and Lake George souvenirs, books, toys, candy, high quality replica muskets and cannon, clothing and unique gifts. Located inside the fort, the Sutler Shoppe is open to the public (fort admission not required) 9:30am – 5:00pm.

Haunted History Tours
“With this much history, there are bound to be some ghost stories…”
The area surrounding Fort William Henry has been the scene for countless battles, terrible disease and harsh climate. With hundreds of years of history, there are bound to be some ghost stories.
Hear stories that have been handed down over the years, as well as the personal experiences of guides leading the tour. You may even encounter your own paranormal experience or capture an other-worldly image. (Tour requires walking, stairs and dark places.)

Directions
Fort William Henry is conveniently located on Route 9 just south of Lake George Village. From Interstate 87, take Exit 21 to the Village. The Fort is located on the north (right) side of the road. Parking is available near the Fort behind the Fort William Henry Conference Center.
Buses and groups are welcome.
