From Fort William Henry’s vantage point on the southern end of Lake George, when we see the trees start to show off their fall colors, it’s a sign that the busy summer season is winding down. But even after the leaves begin to fall, there’s still plenty of things to do in the Adirondacks.
Here are some of our favorite late autumn festivals and events:
Adirondack Stampede Charity Rodeo, November 7 to November 8
The Adirondack Stampede Rodeo rides into the Harding Mazzotti for its 34th year of pro rodeo, featuring top national and regional competitors. This event has evolved into a community tradition and benefits several local charitable causes. Following the rodeo, don’t miss the Round-Up Party at the arena’s Heritage Hall.
Field of Flags Display at Fort William Henry, November 4 to November 11, 2025
Fort William Henry honors our nation’s heroes during our annual Veterans’ Day Commemoration. Guests can walk through the powerful Field of Flags, featuring over 10,000 flags honoring nominated veterans. A Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held on the hotel lawn at 10:30am, complete with a musket volley by reenactors to pay tribute to those who served.
Pumpkin Chunkin’ at Adirondack Pub & Brewery, November 8
If you’ve got an extra pumpkin left over from Halloween that you’re not sure what to do with, this event is for you. The annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ event will be held at Adirondack Pub & Brewery’s High Peaks Distilling location, where chunkers can enjoy a food and beer truck, bonfire, great pumpkin drop (bring your own pumpkins!), and more.
Kringle Kottage, November 19 – December 23
Step into a festive wonderland at Kringle Kottage, located on the grounds of Fort William Henry. This cozy, North Pole-style cabin offers a calm, sensory-friendly Santa experience designed for all ages. Guests can enjoy a personalized 15-minute visit with Santa in a beautiful decorated setting, complete with twinkling lights, a fireplace, and holiday magic.
Lite Up the Village, November 29
More than 7,000 lights turn on at the same time, kicking off the holiday season in the Village of Lake George. Enjoy a festive block party with live music, fireworks, parade, and meet Santa & Friends at the Lake George Firehouse. Don’t forget your ugly sweater for the Crazy & Ugly Sweater Contest.
Holiday Pops 2025 Celtic Holiday, November 29 – December 7
Get into the Christmas spirit with the Glens Falls Symphony as it welcomes internationally acclaimed Irish Fiddler Liz Knowles as well as harmonies from the Lake George and Queensbury High School choirs. The performance includes holiday favorites such as Christmas in Killarney, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Sleigh Ride, and more!
Lake George Games Expo, December 6
Attention gamers! This small pop-up event gives the public a chance to try out new online games from eight local developers. The Expo team is composed of game developers who live in the Lake George region with a goal of building the gaming community in the area. Presentations will provide information on the local community gaming organization, TVGS, and the Lake George Games Expo Summer Event 2026.
Reindeer Run 5K, December 6
Burn off some holiday calories and benefit a worthwhile cause by joining the Adirondack Runners for the annual Reindeer Run 5K at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury, NY. This festive race is a great way to kick off the holiday season, and all proceeds will benefit the WAIT House, a Glens Falls-based non-profit whose mission is to provide stability to youth who present themselves as homeless.
1st Annual Sportsman’s Game Dinner at Fort William Henry, December 15
Join us for an evening of hearty flavors and camaraderie at Fort William Henry’s inaugural Sportsman’s Game Dinner. Enjoy a chef-crafted five-course wild-game menu, raffle prizes including hunting gear and getaways, and a night of celebrating Adirondack outdoor traditions.
